Strawberry Meadow
This trail loop is one of my favorites as it includes incredible vistas, and walking along winding roads in Strawberry and crossing the Herring Creek. It is mostly shaded so cooler in the summer.
Start location: Pinecrest Marina
Distance: About 4.8 Miles for the entire loop
Elevation: About 557 feet of elevation gain
Time: About 2-4 hours depending upon pace

Caution: Crossing Herring creek can be difficult to impossible depending upon the time of year. This creek can be impassible in the winter, spring and early summer and there is not currently an official bridge to cross it although a bridge cement footing was build about 15 years but never completed.
Directions: Starting at the Pinecrest Marina, take the Pinecrest Lake trail to the Dam the cross the Dam. Before climbing the hilly trail after crossing the dam, turn left and head down the trail that points toward Strawberry.

Options to hike to Catfish lake can be taken from this point on the trail before crossing Herring Creek.
Continue on this trail and cross Herring Creek near the bridge footing.
Continue on the road down to Strawberry Store. Options for food and water are available at the store and Lodge across the street.
Cross Hwy 108 carefully and then take the driveway that goes past the Strawberry lodge. Walk through the gate. Follow along the road near the river and cross over the older cement bridge as it crosses the river. After climbing up the hill after the bridge, take your first left and take that road that becomes dirt until you come back opposite the ranger station.
