This is a longer, 18 mile loop that starts and finishes in Pinecrest. In general terms, it officially starts at the Marina and snack bar, and follows the lake trail over the dam to the north shore. From there it follows past catfish lake, past Pinecrest Peak overlook (old fire lookout rock). One continues on the forest service road to the Emigrant Wilderness Area Trail head parking lot down to Waterhouse Lake. From there you continue taking a partially marked trail on the south side of the river below Dodge Ridge ski run and past the South Wall Overlook point and the trail all the way back into Pinecrest.
